Orange County DUI Checkpoints for New Year’s Eve

Our Newport Beach DUI Lawyers want to make sure you’re aware of where the DUI checkpoints are this weekend in Orange County.

From 7 tonight to 3 a.m. Saturday, a DUI/DL checkpoint will be up somewhere in Laguna Niguel.

During those same hours, DUI saturation patrols are scheduled in some of the bars and restaurants in La Habra.

The campaign has scheduled “DUI Taskforce Operations” from 2-3 a.m. Saturday in Buena Park, La Habra and Placentia, and saturation patrols during the same hours in Anaheim.

Finally, La Habra holds a DUI/DL Checkpoint from 7 p.m. Saturday to 3 a.m. Sunday.  Our Orange County DUI lawyers want you to be safe this weekend, people.

Orange County DUI Checkpoints for New Year’s Eve

Anaheim Police announced a DUI Saturation Patrol for New Year’s Eve.  Starting at 7pm on December 31, 2009, Anaheim will have a Saturation Patrol searching for drunk drivers, until 3:00 a.m. on January 1.

Orange County DUI Checkpoints for New Year’s Eve

Note: Our firm practices Orange County DUI defense. As a result, we get press releases from police agencies regarding checkpoints, and present them for your holiday planning.

The OC Sheriff’s Department announced the following DUI checkpoints for tonight, December 18, 2009, only (and others for tomorrow and future dates):

DUI/DL CHECKPOINT 7:00 p.m. – 3:00 a.m., City of Anaheim
DUI/DL CHECKPOINT 7:00 p.m. – 3:00 a.m., City of Buena Park
DUI/DL CHECKPOINT 7:00 p.m. – 3:00 a.m., City of Garden Grove
DUI/DL CHECKPOINT 7:00 p.m. – 3:00 a.m., City of Placentia
DUI/DL CHECKPOINT 7:00 p.m. – 3:00 a.m., City of Westminster
DUI/DL CHECKPOINT 7:00 p.m. – 3:00 a.m., City of Stanton
DUI Saturation Patrols 8:00 p.m. – 3:00 a.m., City of Anaheim

Costa Mesa police also announced that they will be conducting one of two local DUI checkpoints tonight as part of a statewide crackdown on drunk drivers during the holidays.

From 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. tonight, police will be stationed at Newport Boulevard and Flower Street, stopping drivers and checking to see if they’re impaired, have a valid license or are breaking other driving laws.

As part of a California Office of Traffic Safety grant, police agencies statewide will be mounting DUI checkpoints through Jan. 3. State officials plan for 300 checkpoints from today through the beginning of 2010.

Costa Mesa police will mount their second checkpoint of the campaign Dec. 29 at Santa Ana Avenue and 18th Street, from 6 p.m. to midnight. (Source: Costa Mesa PD).

Cypress Police announced a very “Special Holiday DUI Crackdown”. The first of two holiday checkpoints in the city of Cypress will be on December 18, 2009, from 6pm to 2am and will be located on Katella at Cara Way. The second holiday checkpoint will be on December 26, 2009, from 6pm to 2am on Valley View and Lakeshore.
